Cell frames, end plates and casings made with our high-strength, high-temperature-resistant plastics like Ultramid®, are designed on the molecular level to be both lightweight and strong, enhancing durability and battery life expectancy.
Elastollan® thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) offers outstanding abrasion resistance, coupled with flexibility, strength and both chemical and abrasion resistance help extend the life of charging cables. Elastofoam® polyurethane provides heavy duty protection for cable sheathing, grommets and gaskets.
Batteries that are forced to operate outside their optimum temperature range have a far shorter lifespan than those treated to effective thermal management with even distribution throughout the pack. Our new concepts for thermal management help maintain that optimum range and enhance battery performance.
We have several options that can be used to create durable gaskets / seals for your battery packs. Elastofoam® can be used to make a thermoset polyurethane elastomer and Elastollan® is a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer – both are excellent materials for durable gaskets that protect battery packs from external moisture contamination.
